The City of Issaquah is building an extremely energy efficient fire station at 1575 Maple Street, adjacent to the Issaquah Transit Center.
When finished in the summer of 2011, this station is likely to be one of the highest level LEED platinum buildings in the Northwest.
The artwork will be a 20' solar-powered sconce on the building exterior. The station is designed by TCA Architects.

THE MODEL
Here are a few shots of the model. The strips will be made of an eco-resin material by 3-FORM. the artwork will be lit from behind with LEDs and mounted to the exterior of the building.
The eco-resin ribbons will be attached to an aluminum frame with stand-offs to provide "waviness"
The overall dimensions of the finished artwork are 19'H x 6.5'W
